The new finishes are a result of extensive customer
feedback and research into the forthcoming trends in interior design, as well as investment and development at the UK manufacturing site to improve sustainability, quality and customer choice. Customers can choose from 16 standard finishes
across the four MK decorative wiring device ranges: Aspect (screwless); Edge (flatplate); Alloy (contemporary sharp edge); and Albany Plus (classic rounded edge). The finer details, such as matching metal rockers and black or white inserts provide design accents required by architects, interior designers and consultants. As well as the 1,000 standard products available,
the MK Design Service can customise products with enhanced functionality, or provide colour matching and special finishes to fit into an interior design scheme.

The Echo range comprises wireless, battery-less and self-powered transmitters, controls and receivers, which enables the user to create a bespoke control system for home, hotel, office environments or other functional buildings with a range of transmitters, temperature sensors and presence detectors, as well as receivers that can be programmed with multiple settings. The latest extension adds capability to the portfolio
including light dimming, scene setting, presence sensing, temperature control, door position detection, plug-through switching and dimming, as well as new aesthetic finishes for transmitters in a number of options. The increased functionality means that a user may
wish to programme scenes that incorporate more than one device – for example turning on a bathroom light also sends a signal to a fan to start automatically two minutes later. Hotels can use the technology to detect presence and control the air-conditioning or heating. Using EnOcean technology, the range of transmitters and receivers exploit tiny amounts of ambient energy to wirelessly operate lighting at ranges of up to 300 metres.
