Luis Felipe Pellon

Luis Felipe Pellon has dealt with insurance and reinsurance matters since 1972, having worked in top positions at insurance companies such as Sul America and

Assicurazioni Generalli in Brazil. He has also worked as adviser to

government insurance entities such as the Brazilian Insurance Commissioner (SUSEP) and the reinsurance institute IRB – Brasil Resseguros S/A. Pellon lived in Germany from March 1983 to April 1987, where he conducted research on insurance law at the University of Hamburg and the Max Planck Institute. He is fluent in German, English and Spanish. In the academic field, he is professor of the National Private Insurance School (FUNENSEG) and Cândido Mendes University. He is also a member and former President of the national Chapter of AIDA, the International Insurance Law Association.

(currently under liquidation) and a Bank in collusion, was to deviate resources from the insurer, under the disguise of a supposed guarantee for fictitious loans. The whole amount that had been misappropriated from the insurer, in detriment of the bankrupt estate, is estimated in US$ 22.000.000, 00. Thanks to our efforts, our arguments prevailed at all instances, leading us to reach a successful result for our client at all the State Courts. Currently, we are waiting the Superior Court of Justice (STJ) to issue a decision on the Special Appeal lodged by the defendants, which is still pending. (152 words)
