POSITION: 33 years’ experience in active commercial law, litigation, international law and arbitration practice. His experience includes: having acted as sole arbitrator, member of arbitral panels and as counsel in numerous domestic and international arbitrations; acted as solicitor to numerous capital market issues; acted as Chairman of the review panel for the licensing round of oil blocks issued by the Nigerian authorities in 2005. As Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice of Nigeria, he initiated key reforms in the justice sector. He has advised government on the exit of Nigeria from Paris and London Clubs and was involved in the negotiation of $2.5bn loan facility from the Chinese government for the Mambilla Hydro Project, railways rehabilitation and rural telephony. He acts as tutor for the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators and is a visiting lecturer at the Faculty of Law, University of Ilorin, Nigeria, legal draftsman, chartered arbitrator and a Senior Advocate of Nigeria.
