Notable Legal Work

• Our firm was involved in a high-profile case that has resulted in a reference to the CJEU (C-307/10), which has implications for the harmonisation of trade mark law and practice between Member States of the EU.

• Carrollanne Lindley acted in a revocation matter that is now regarded as a leading case concerning residual goodwill in passing off cases (case reference O-090-11).

• Iain Stewart was successful in persuading the Community Trade Mark Office’s Board of Appeal to accept several movement mark applications, which is now seen as the leading case on movement marks in the EU (case reference R443-2010-2).

• Our burgeoning entertainment practice has seen us act in several matters on behalf of well-known music groups and songwriters, whilst we have conducted trade mark clearance searches on many high-profile advertising campaigns on behalf of a leading London advertising agency.

• We represent many ‘CleanTech’ clients and we have advised a successful Dragon’s Den contestant in relation to Intellectual Property.
