Carew while they waited for a CN west- bound and VIA No. 73. Once again we got them switching in Woodstock after being cleared by the diamond. Shortly thereafter the two light units

from Tillsonburg arrived and began switching the cars for the feedmill at Putnam. When his switching was com- pleted, he headed back west for Putnam, and we gave chase. We got him west of Woodstock, and then again as the acceleratory plume of smoke was killing the mosquitos east of Beachville. He stopped at Beachville and lifted some overflow auto racks for Cami, so we were able to get set up in downtown Ingersoll for a nice shot passing a local church. We nailed him several more times before he got to the mill at Putnam, and then made a num- ber of nice shots as he switched the plant, which is in a very nice location, easily accessible and quite photogenic. The first crew finished their work

and headed back for Salford as light en- gines. We, however, still had a job to do, so we went back and waited east of Beachville for the OSR Cami crew to re- turn. They had a large train consisting of 55 cars, 47 of which were auto racks. At 1747 he was by us. On arriving In- gersoll, the crew dropped eight cars, and then was forced to wait to spot his

auto racks, as the CN local was still working in the area. The OSR crew cooled their heels for an hour until the CN finally went by, and we made a nice shot of the meet at Pemberton Street in Ingersoll. By now it was nearly time for the last westbound VIA train, and we ended the day as we started it, with a

CN eastbound freight passing at 1925 with a pair of GE AC4400 “toasters,” and one minute later VIA No. 75 with eight classic stainless steel cars, but no “Silver Bullet” engine. No steakhouse tonight, just a quick

trip to Wendy’s and passing out in our motel room.
