Gimme five
Core Bike has long proved a key date in the calendar for bike retailers, and with five extra exhibitors set to appear at the 2012 show, it’s a bigger and more vital show than ever. Jonathon Harker takes a look at the new boys…
Core Bike started with six companies showing their wares at the West Brom Moathouse, got up to 12 exhibitors in 2007 and for 2012 will have a whopping 22 exhibitors, more than trebling its debut showing.
In case you missed the news amidst the fun of Eurobike, Interbike and Cycle Show, the five new exhibitors for 2012 are Bionicon, Endura, Hotlines, Mojo Suspension and finally Polaris. Endura is one of two apparel firms joining

the Core line-up. Founded in Edinburgh in 1992 by Jim McFarlane, Endura’s apparel range has won awards – including a Eurobike Design Award in 2007 – and covers the full gamet of clothing from jackets to shorts, lycra wear, gloves, leg wear, etc, and accessories like eyewear, socks, warmers and even boxers. Simon Richardson, Endura’s sales manager
for UK and International, explains why the brand has decided the time is right to join the Northamptonshire-set event: “Endura is excited to be at Core Bike for the first time. With being a Scottish brand, built on the values of riding whatever the weather, autumn/winter is always important for us. We are looking forward to showing our exciting new styles in a great environment, to our accounts at the UK premier trade-only event.” Hotlines is probably the most familiar name among the new batch of Core exhibitors. The distributor has operated in the trade for almost 20 years and holds the likes of Lapierre, Ghost, Lynskey, Nuke Proof, Sombrio, Leatt and many more in its portfolio.
