e-Thirteen XCX-CX/D chain guides
THERE ARE Two new chain guides from specialist e-Thirteen for 2012 – the XCX D-type and XCX.XC. The XCX D-type guide is designed for high-
direct style front derailleur mounts, which are increasingly found on hardtail and full suspension MTB frames. The D-Type clamps directly to the seattube of
the frame replacing the front derailleur giving your customer the perfect partner for a single ring set-up thanks to 4.5mm of chainline adjustment.

Joining the expanded 2012 line-up of guides aimed at the single front chainring market is the
XCX.CX, a cyclocross specific device. Utilising a seat tube clamp cam the
XCX.CX has seamless chainline adjustment, and can be mounted to frames with 28.6, 31.8 or 34.9 seat tube diameters.
Both new guides incorporate the adjustable upper slider from the World Cup winning LG1+ guide, feature alloy hardware and will be available in two colour options – either black or white.
Urban Kreation Jeans
RELATIVELY NEW to the market, yet already supporting riders such as Isaac Lesser, Ben Hennon and Sam Pilgrim, Urban Kreation has brought to market what it says is a virtually 'untearable' pair of jeans. Lined with Kevlar-upstager Vectram and Covec,
the stretchy fabric jeans offer greater defence against abrasion and impact than Kevlar. The materials are in fact so strong that NASA uses the very same stuff for airbags on missions such as the Mars Probe Landing. The military has taken an interest lately too.
Direct
sales@urbankreation.com Coated with a liquid crystal polymer fibre, the
jeans offer reductions to all scratching or heat burns on the skin during a crash. The denim is also stretchy enough to allow greater movement than a standard pair of jeans. With a recommended retail price of £89.99
per pair, Urban Kreation has worked a few subtle details into the garment to make each desirable, including a subtle rear pocket logo, as well as offering various cuts and fits. For more information on this up-coming brand, visit

Clif Bar gels
IN RESPONSE to consumer demand for Clif Bar's gel product 2pure has finally ordered some in. As part of the Clif Shot range, the gels deliver easily digestable carbohydrates and electrolytes in four flavours. With a thin, smooth consistency, the gels
don't carry the 'glue' like texture so often associated with gel product. Based around the belief that less can be more, Clif has focused on just a few ingredients, including fast-acting energy source Maltodextrin and dried cane syrup.
2pure 0844 811 2001 The four flavours stocked by 2pure are
chcocolate, citrus with 25mg of added caffeine, 'Razz' and Double Expresso with a 100mg dose of added caffeine. The latter is favoured by Ironman athlete and champion Chris McCormack. 2pure also now has stock of Tropical Punch
flavoured Shot Blocks and the all new White Chocolate Macadamia Luna bar. The Luna is designed for women, in particular and contains high levels of calcium, folic acid and iron.
Bamboo Bikes
WITH A SUCCESSFUL Cycle Show debut and a lot of post-show talk on social media sites, RAW Bamboo, fronted by Rachel Hammond, is off to a strong start. Having secured a spot in each of Edinburgh
Bicycle Co-ops stores, the brand is now looking for independent retailers in the rest of the UK to get in touch. The frameset is built in Yorkshire from
imported bamboo lengths, meaning each and every frame is unique. Blended with flax fibre and carrying standard metal inserts, the frame

can accommodate a variety of builds – including a Deore spec for £1,750 and and SLX for £2,000. Each individual frame takes two days to build. At just £1,000 for the frame (compliant to BS EN standards) the customer receives a bike that naturally has vibration dampening properties and if BikeBiz's brief roll on Cycle Show's test track is anything to go by, the smaller vibrations are absorbed far better than most metal counterparts.
