 SHIFT ACTIVE MEDIA Experienced journalist STEPHEN FERRAND has been appointed editorial director at Shift Active Media. Ferrand joins from Cyclingnews.com, where


he was a key member of the editorial and production team. Previously he was based in Italy where he cut his teeth as a freelance journalist with Bicycling AOL, Cycling Weekly, Cycle Sport and the Reuters news agency. He has reported on numerous editions of the Giro d’Italia, Tour de France and other major races. He is a fluent Italian speaker and raced in Italy for several years before becoming a journalist.  3T Components brand 3T has appointed CLAUDIO SANTI as worldwide sales chief, tasking him with leading global expansion with bike OEMs in Europe, America and the Far East. President and CEO René Wiertz said: “Claudio has a wealth of experience with one of Italy’s most renowned names in cycling, and knows intimately the market for high-end racing wheels. That’s exactly what we need to make our new-generation Mercurio and Accelero wheels market leaders. This is 3T’s ambition and I have no doubt Claudio will make a major contribution to achieving it.”

 TREK After several years as Trek’s Pro Team Liason to Team RadioShack and Leopard Trek, BEN COATES has been tabbed to manage Trek’s road bike product line. Coates has prior


experience and knowledge of the equipment needs of some of the world’s greatest athletes and will be applying that to Trek’s road products. JORDAN ROESSINGH, formerly of Bontrager’s wheel development team, will take over as team liason effective immediately.


 I-RIDE i-ride has appointed TOM COPELAND to a full-time brand management role after a brief spell working part time for the distributor. After a successful time riding for top UK and Belgian teams Copeland has also built his cycle industry experience at a leading local retailer. Copeland is now available for retail visits and will attend many of the events i-ride is scheduled to appear at in the coming months.  TRIONZ JESSICA HIGTON has taken over the role of marketing manager at performance wristband manufacturer TrionZ.

Recently acquired by Factory Media, RoadCyclingUK.com has been at the forefront of the online cycling scene for seven years. RCUK’s content is renowned for its quality and depth, making it the first-choice UK website for the growing number of riders into the performance-orientated road cycling.


As part of our plans for expansion, we are looking to appoint a Managing Editor to the team. The successful applicant will report to the Head of Digital Content and to the Director of the Bike Market. The role will involve ensuring that the site grows on all fronts, through an increase in content flow, targeted editorial planning and an understanding of how best to connect with the growing market of consumers engaging in performance road cycling.


You will need to demonstrate an understanding of online media and the road cycling market and have the editorial skills to approach your work in a disciplined and efficient manner. Being part of a team of three, you will also benefit from the central support of the SEO and Video teams aligned to MPORA.COM
