Tour of Britain is a roaring success
STAFF AT THE National Cycle Museum, Llandrindod Wells. Mid-Wales, were unaware of the unusually attired stone lion also watching over the action of the Welsh stage of the Tour of Britain. You could say it went over their heads. But, hat’s off to whoever got the traffic cone on the lion’s head, not that we condone that kind of thing. The staff of the National Cycle Museum claim to have had nothing to do with it.

IAN WRIGHT (not that one) from Kington, Herefordshire is a man on a mission. The practising vet is riding solo to South Africa, starting in October from West Kirby on the Wirral in Merseyside. The epic 9,000 mile trans-African adventurer has been kindly branded ‘mad’ by colleagues and friends alike. KENT’S ALL-SINGING all-riding Cyclopark facility was tested out by the USA Olympic BMX team a few weeks ago. The team put the track, located on the park near Gravesend, to the test a few days before heading over to the London Olympic test event in the summer. The brand new Cyclopark is set to continue to work with international teams to
promote the facility and help create the next generation of Olympic and Paralympic atheletes in the process.
