The UAE currently has more than 400 public and private hospitals including health centres and dental clinics, as well as dedicated maternal, paediatric and scholar health centres. The construction of ‘The Dubai Healthcare City’ freezone is an ongoing project, with the aim of creating a city within a city catering for all types of medical centre, from education to outpatients. This, together with UAE’s strategic location, good transport networks and its free trade zones, make the Emirates an attractive market for national exports, which has been growing at a rate of 30% for the last eight years. With governments spending more and more on healthcare, and life expectancies increasing, healthcare in the Middle East is a fast growing and important industry to invest in. With this in mind, the 2012 edition of Arab Health is welcoming for new country pavilions, which will play host to a variety of companies looking to capitalise and invest in the Middle East healthcare market.
