Noteworthy NCGA Poppy Hills and Poppy Ridge

Mobile Only a couple months

after the renovation of the NCGA mobile site, the Association has launched two new mobile sites for its golf course prop- erties, Poppy Hills and Poppy Ridge. The slick MOBILE SITES have four primary buttons that are frequently used when visiting a golf course website: Tee times, directions, the golf shop phone num- ber (which directly

connects you

when pushed) and hole/ tour photo gallery. Other icons include rates, score- card, NCGA member benefi ts, current weather and a post your score icon for when you fi nish your round. If you can’t fi nd what you’re looking for on the mobile sites, at the bottom of the page there is a “View Full Site” link, which takes you to the same page you would fi nd from a regular computer. Visit poppyridgegolf.

com and poppyhillsgolf. com from a mobile device to use the golfer-friendly mobile interfaces.

Poppy Hills Renovation—

Course Still Open POPPY HILLS will soon hear back from CEQA

for environmental review if the course has been approved for renovation, which would be sched- uled to begin as early as spring of 2013. The course will remain in full operation throughout 2012 and the beginning of 2013, so schedule a round on the classic Robert Trent Jones Jr. design. The purpose of this renovation is fi ve-fold:

replace irrigation system to better manage water usage, redesign and lessen doglegs to help the course unfold naturally, replace and redesign all putting greens, sandcap fair- ways to greatly improve drainage and renovate the clubhouse including the restaurant and rest- rooms. If you have any questions or concerns about the renovation, ncga.org’s “Renovation FAQ” page may help.
