anaesthesia, and are fully monitored by our anaesthesia staff in our state-of-the-art surgical facility. The procedure takes approximately


2 hours and patients go home or to a nearby hotel after recovering in the Center for 60–90 minutes. Patients return the next day for a dressing change and to have their hair washed. They are advised to limit their activities and to apply cold compresses generously for 3 days. Patients are given a light, velco neck support, the Hopping Headband, to wear when at home and during the night for the first week. final sutures are removed after 1 week and exercise can be resumed in 10–14 days.

new facelift development include, ‘Does the Soft Lift look natural?’ A natural, non-plastic looking result is the great advantage of this procedure. Patients today want to look fresh and rejuvenated, and not over-treated. Combining filling and lifting rejuvenates the face in a very natural way. Another common question is, ‘Can this


procedure be performed on men?’ In men, we focus on the neck, so many times the incisions can be minimal or hidden behind the ears. Men, like women, want to look as young as they feel — and don’t want visible scars. In men, we often use incisions only behind the ears so that


there is no concern about having to camouflage visibly healing scars. This a huge issue for both men and many women (Figure 3).


A state-of-the-art procedure Although the Soft Lift has a shorter recovery time, it is just not a skin lift procedure. This is a state-of-the-art SMAS (superficial muscular aponeurotic system) lift. Tightening the SMAS layer is the key to better long-term results and imperceptible scars. The SMAS layer envelopes all of the muscles of the face so that resuspending the SMAS elevates the facial muscles as well. This is
