Facial reshaping: an intradermal technique

Chariya Petchngaovilai takes an intradermal

approach to botulinum toxin, and reviews the evidence base for the efficacy of its use

ABSTRACT The intradermal injection technique is a variation on the conventional intramuscular injection. This technique inhibits only the superficial part of the muscle inserting on to the skin. It restores some muscle function and tone to rejuvenate and reshape the facial contour, with a natural feel and oblong configuration.

Objective: To address the intradermal injection technique of botulinum toxin for facial rejuvenation and reshaping.

Method: Procedures for facial rejuvenation and reshaping by intradermal technique are described.
