Sail Sand Point Recognized for

Educational Programs Sail Sand Point, along with eight

other boating centers from across the nation, has been recognized as a US Sailing Sanctioned Sailing Center for providing new and returning sailors with the highest quality of education. Organizations that were chosen also demonstrated a proven track record, superior equipment and facilities, and strong safety protocols. Among the other sailing programs that were recognized, six are on the East Coast, one is in the Midwest, one is in Southern California. SSP is the only organization recognized in the Pacific Northwest. US Sailing’s recognition is just one

of many causes for celebration for the community boating center located in Magnuson Park. In 2011 Sail Sand Point set and achieved a goal of awarding 50 scholarships for their full length sailing classes. Although the organization has been offering low cost programs and boat rentals since 1998, this year the nonprofit was able to do even more by awarding over $12,000 in scholarships to kids and adults. Asked if he could summarize Sail

Sand Point’s mission in just three words, Executive Director Morgan Collins paused a moment before replying. “Community, access, boats.” Sail Sand Point is located at the North

Shore Recreation Area, on the campus of Sand Point/Magnuson Park on the shores of Lake Washington in Seattle. Over the last 13 years, SSP has

created sailing and small boat programs for youth and adults from the greater Seattle area. These programs have brought youth and adults of all ages to participate in summer camps, year round youth racing clinics, adult classes, open sailing opportunities, boat storage and a variety of partnership programs. SSP is focused particularly on youth and the development of lifelong skills of sailing and personal qualities of character, leadership and the awareness of environment. INSTALL 5hp – 2000hp

Business or Pleasure, AquaDrive will make your boat smoother, quieter and vibration free.

The AquaDrive system solves a

problem nearly a century old; the fact that marine engines are installed on soft engine mounts and attached almost rigidly to the propeller shaft. The very logic of AquaDrive is inescapable. An engine that is vibrating

on soft mounts needs total freedom of movement from its propshaft if noise and vibration are not to be transmitted to the hull. The AquaDrive provides just this freedom of movement. Tests proved that the AquaDrive with its softer engine mountings can reduce vibration by 95% and structure borne noise by 50% or more. For information, call Drivelines NW today.
