RECYCLING & WASTE HANDLING Eriez Showcase Recycling Equipment at REW, Turkey

such as nails, ideal for recycled wood applications.

Eriez Magnetics Europe Ltd have designed and developed an extensive range of separators utilising magnetic principles, and at REW in Turkey between 8th and 11th June 2011 showcased their latest systems for ferrous and non ferrous metal recovery. At REW, Eriez showcased their new RevX-E™ Eddy Current Separator which is the first Eddy Current Separator from Eriez to have an eccentric magnetic rotor to allow a single point of separation, which is different than the usual concentric design. The RevX-E™ is ideally suited for purifying cullet and plastics, and recovered valuable metal from secondary metals and incineration ash, especially the separation of small particles. The new Eccentric ECS will be fully operational at the

Along with Magnetic Separators and Metal Sorting equipment, Eriez Europe also design and manufacture Metal Detectors to detect ferrous and non-ferrous metals. The E-Z Tec9100 combines balanced coil technology with a pneumatic reject system, ensuring the detection and rejection of sub-millimetre metal contaminants from free falling material. It is ideally suited for recycled plastics and rubbers. On the Eriez Stand, the E-Z Tec 9100 was on display incorporated into a Metal Separation Unit consisting of an Eriez Vibratory Feeder which fed material into a ProGrade

show and available for testing.

Also putting in an appearance at the show was a self

cleaning version of the Model TP Suspended Permanent Magnet. The Eriez TP Magnet is robust, requires minimal maintenance, is very simple to install and operate and is very versatile. The twin pole magnet is designed for the removal of long, thin, sharp metals

Jack Moody strengthens JCB fleet

Jack Moody Ltd’s recycling business has expanded its 16-strong fleet of JCB equipment with the addition of two new 456eHT Wastemaster wheeled loading shovels. The new machines are used in the processing of green waste and inert materials and the handling of 100 per cent wood, 100 per cent recycled pellets and chips for distribution to a local Biomass-fuelled power station. The production of these natural, environmentally-friendly Biomass fuels is the latest of the company’s sustainability-led innovations.

One of the new machines is operating at the Jack Moody Ltd’s 55-acre headquarters in Cannock and the other at a satellite centre near Telford. They join eight more JCB 456 wheeled loading shovels, three JCB JS tracked excavators, one JCB 2CX and one 3CX backhoe loader, two Loadall telescopic handlers and a JCB Teletruk, which perform a vast range of handling and loading tasks on site. Robert Moody, managing director of Jack Moody Ltd, said: “The specification of high quality plant and machinery has been crucial to our success and we have a strong philosophy of supporting local businesses and backing British manufacturers. JCB typifies this – providing us with high quality, reliable and cost effective machines. We also receive

excellent service and backup from dealer Gunn JCB.”

Across its diverse business operation, Jack Moody Ltd recycles commercial and municipal organic materials as a cost effective alternative to landfill disposal. It currently processes up to 244,000 tonnes of inert material and over 90,000 tonnes of green waste per annum at its four sites. The green waste is processed to produce a 100% recycled, peat free compost, sold under the CARE Compost™ brand and is used extensively by Jack Moody Landscapes as well as sold through garden centres and local authority civic amenity sites.

Jack Moody Ltd is one of the largest composting operations in the UK and was the first compost manufacturer to be granted the BSI PAS 100 2005 standard by the Composting Association and has been designated as a ‘best practice site’ by government body WRAP. One of the flagship models in the JCB range, the JCB 456eHT Wastemaster wheeled loading shovels have been tailor made for the rehandling environment, incorporating features such as light guards, lower door guards and fenders

ferrous particles and then into the E-Z Tec 9100 to reject the remainder of the metal contaminants.

which all protect from potential physical impact damage. Underbelly guards protect transmission components from material contamination while specialist tyres ensure maximum protection against punctures in harsh waste rehandling applications. Protection for the operator is ensured with the fitment of cab roof and screen guards. The positive pressure cab environments can be additionally filtered too, with finer filter elements reducing dust ingress and protecting against potentially hazardous working environments. Reversing alarms, reversing cameras, convex mirrors, rotating beacons and additional work lights also ensure bystander safety, especially important in this extremely busy application. www.jcb.com www.jackmoodyltd.co.uk
