RECYCLING & WASTE HANDLING
Hosokawa Micron launches new Dura Line Shredder for recycling applications
The new Alpine Dura Line Shredder is an exceptionally robust, single shaft crusher/shredder which has applications in processing plastics, recycled and fibrous materials and other difficult to handle products.
This new range is available with drive powers from 45 to 250kW and the patented multi edge cutting shaft in monoblock construction has diameters from 400 to 800mm and lengths from 1000 to 2000mm. The knife seats are milled into the shaft thus providing the cutters with an exceedingly high impact strength making them highly suitable for difficult materials.
The Alpine Duraline Shredder is ideal for use in recycling paper, cardboard, wood, plastics and glass applications.
Dura Line shredders are characterised by a heavy-duty torsion free support construction
and uses a modular design that is available with different qualities and number of knives. Depending on the material to be processed, patented tungsten carbide knives, having a variety of profiles, can easily be inserted with no risk of distortion. Special perforated screen meshes permit precise control of the final product size.
Difficult to handle materials such as plastic film or fibres can be processed effectively and Dura Line machines come with a menu guided control system making it possible to programme variables such as cutting power, power consumption and other procedural parameters. Hydraulic drives are an option as well and this ensures very smooth operation even under extreme load conditions. Tel: 01928 755100

attachment. For operational stability, the A 316 is fitted with front and rear hydraulic outriggers and, when free-on-wheels, the mobility and agility of this machine provides excellent manoeuvrability around site. The A316 Litronic is an 18 tonnes class machine and the engine output is 94kW, providing power to spare. Highly successsful in waste transfer stations and scrap metal processing applications, the A 316 has lift capacities of up to 11 tonnes, a maximum reach of 9 metres and a lift height of up to 9 metres.
A 316 Litronic
Liebherr-Great Britain Limited exhibited again at the Plant & Waste Recycling Show (June 7-9), Paignton Green, Torbay on Stand Number M1. On display were two materials handling machines from the company’s comprehensive range of equipment, specifically designed and built for municipal and commercial waste management, transfer stations and recycling operations.
The A 316 Litronic Industrial Rehandler
The A 316 Litronic is a wheeled materials handler featuring an hydraulically elevating cab, a 3.5 metres stick with tilt kinematics and a 5.5 metres industrial straight boom for maximum lift height and long reach capabilities. The machine is capable of working with grapple or shear and features Liebherr Tool Control for automatic recognition of attachment, adjusting hydraulic flow accordingly; it is also equipped with hydraulic swivel for full 360° rotation of the selected
The operator’s cab is typically comfortable and functional, with Litronic engine, hydraulic and electronic management system and lift charts. A safe load indicator is standard. The cab can be hydraulically raised to give an eye- line of approximately 5 metres, with front and top (FOPS) guards fitted.
The L 5502plus2 High-Lift Waste Handler
The Liebherr L 5502plus2 is an articulated, hydrostatically driven wheeled loader in the 16 tonnes class, with a tipping load of 11,650kg and is one of a range of sixteen hydrostatic wheeled loading shovels from Liebherr. Power is supplied by a fuel-miserly Liebherr made engine which develops 130kW and complies with Stage IIIA / Tier 3 emissions; the engine has an automatic shut-down feature which activates should the vehicle remain static for five minutes – further contributing to fuel economy. The special 3050mm high-lift arms fitted to the show model provide a superb dump height clearance which is ideal for loading and tamping material into high- sided bulkers. Hydraulic quick-hitch allows safe and automatic change of front-end attachments and the relevant hoses are all equipped with quick-release couplings.
All Liebherr Waste Handlers feature high level, isolated cooling systems which are equipped with an automatically reversing fan to maintain radiator cleanliness and efficiency; cyclonic engine air pre-cleaners are also included to combat the dusty environment found in many recycling applications. The hydrostatic drive system on Liebherr loaders not only contributes to considerable fuel consumption benefits but also, with limited slip differential in both front and rear axles, produces good efficient pushing power when stockpiling whilst, at the same time, prolonging tyre life. An automatic lubrication system is standard and helps to reduce maintenance time.
The operator’s cab is typically comfortable, functional and a superb example of the science of ergonomics. Air-conditioned with full instrumentation, it is safety glazed with tinted armoured glass to the front guarded screen. The steering column is fully height adjustable and the attachment control is via multi-directional joystick integrated into the seat armrest. Further operational safety features include 12.5 kmh speed limitation, accoustical back-up alarm, amber beacon and additional handrails. Tel: 01767-602100
