Non-contacting linear position transducer teach function

SHAPA member Variohm

EuroSensor has launched a new range of compact and robust linear position transducers with a novel non-contacting and long life inductive measurement principle for travel display or position feedback in industrial environments. The NOVOPAD LS1 series, from Variohm's exclusive German distribution partner Novotechnik, features an integrated signal processor with optional voltage or current output and includes a teach function using push-buttons and a status LED for straightforward in-situ range setting. The NOVOPAD principle is based on a low-cost printed circuit board design that allows an absolute linearity of up to 0.05 percent across the full measurement range.

SHAPA member Genesis Process Solutions. Requiring a compact storage method that did not require handling by fork-lift trucks, Genesis Process Solutions, the UK & Ireland distributor for Walter Krause flexible silos, supplied two flexible silos with a joint capacity of 56 tonnes together with a suction conveying system to take the raw material from the silos directly to the production line. Krause flexible silos are manufactured from anti-static woven polyester which is breathable and which virtually eliminates condensation.

that increase productivity, accuracy and security. Approved according to national and international standards, it guarantees reliable results for use over tilt trays, crossbelts or any other type of sorting system. With embedded application software no external PC is needed, making the dimensioner a versatile, compact and cost effective solution. The company is a leading global supplier of precision instruments and is the world’s largest manufacturer and marketer of weighing instruments for use in laboratory, industrial and food retailing applications.

company’s UK and Indian based manufacturing sites. Blending vessels at the UK facility had been fitted with different pressure sensors that allowed for dosing of many formulae. However, measuring was inaccurate; batches needed reworking to meet specifications. A rigid steel framework was introduced and Applied Weighing’s Safemount loading assemblies were integrated into this to consistently improve quality for the customer.

popcorn A West Midlands popcorn manufacturer required an elevating and feeding system to connect its roasting and flavouring process points to their packaging unit. The system needed to be clean, quick and efficient. SHAPA member Gough Engineering Ltd. supplied a Swinglink Bucket Elevator and Vibratory Feeder with support frame. The Swinglink would run at a speed of 15 m/min with the Electro-Magnetic Feeder feeding at 720 kgs/hour, equivalent to 45 bags of popcorn per hour. The E-Mag Feeder was developed for the controlled feeding of product to a weighing machine. Feeders can also be supplied with integral hoppers for product storage to a bespoke design.
