Green World Tours

If you’d like to really make a difference to the port you’re visiting, a new range of charitable and responsible tourism shore excursions is now available on selected itineraries. This programme of non profit making tours is designed to support the towns and communities visited, as well as to give you a unique experience ashore. Visits currently include a Children’s Home in Port Kelang and the Peninsular School Feeding Project in Cape Town.

The tours vary in price with some including a donation and others just covering costs, leaving you free to donate as much or as little as you choose.

Port Kelang Children’s Home Adult £25 - £35, Child £25 - £35

Peninsular School Feeding Project Adult £60 - £70, Child £60 - £70

Good things come in small packages

Many of the most popular excursions offered by P&O Cruises provide a relatively personal experience as part of a small tour group, allowing you to get to know your fellow passengers. In Barbados for example, you can enjoy a drive to the exquisite Sugar Hill and the Royal Westmoreland and Sandy Lane areas to discover the exclusive resort locations where the rich and famous spend their time. Then you can enjoy some refreshment at the Sandy Lane Country Club.

If you want to treat yourself to a truly exclusive experience, a ‘Private Tour’ could be just the thing. A great example is an Egyptian tour that takes you by private vehicle along the desert road to Cairo for a tour of the National Museum. Here you’ll find the world’s greatest collection of Egyptian antiquities, including the treasures of Tutankhamun and his famous solid gold mask. This is followed by lunch at a leading Cairo hotel before finishing the day with a visit to the Great Pyramid of Cheops and

the Sphinx.

Barbados Elite Resorts of Rich and Famous Adult £40 - £45, Child N/A

Cairo and The Pyramids Private Tour A private car for up to 4 passengers – £610 per vehicle

A private minibus for up to 10 passengers – £1,260 per vehicle

Adrenalin fuelled fun

From zip wiring to Jeep Safari’s, scuba diving to RIB riding, and even helicopter and plane flights, there are plenty of shore excursions to satisfy even the most thrill-seeking and adventurous of spirit.

Climbing the Sydney Harbour Bridge offers a unique view of the world famous harbour area and on this tour a qualified guide will lead your small group up the eastern arch, through steel catwalks, and onto the summit. In Dubai you can experience a thrilling desert safari through the sand dunes in powerful 4WD vehicles. Steep climbs up the dunes and stomach-churning drops back into the valleys are skilfully handled by very experienced drivers.

Sydney Harbour Bridge Climb Adult £145 - £150, Child N/A

Dubai 4WD Desert Safari Adult £75 - £80, Child £55 - £60

PLAN AHEAD By booking excursions through P&O Cruises, you’ll be able to budget properly for your days ashore, especially as everything is charged in Pounds Sterling. In addition, by reserving your shore excursion before your cruise, you can secure your place on the tours you want. Once you have booked your cruise you can reserve your shore excursions online at www.pocruises.co.uk and click on ‘cruise personaliser’.

PEACE OF MIND Excursions offer you a safe and secure way of exploring ashore. We ensure all our shore excursion providers have insurance and that they have and adhere to their own safety management systems. If an excursion is delayed, the ship will not depart without you, so you won’t need to spend your day clock watching, or worrying about the traffi c. Also, if there’s any reason why we have to make a last minute change to the cruise itinerary, you can rest assured that we’ll offer a range of alternatives.

At P&O Cruises we want you get the most from your time ashore and we have planned our optional shore excursions so they offer the very best of each destination we visit. However, if you wish to explore independently you’ll fi nd that in most instances you’ll be within walking distance of the main sights or public transportation will be available. And of course a limited number of free shuttle buses will be provided if local services are restricted due to where your ship has berthed. See our shore excursion page at www.pocruises.co.uk for further information on the services available.
