by James Batchelor IT’S A hat trick for Zumba Fitnessas the dance workout game racks up a third consecutive week at the top of
the UK All Formats Chart.
The 505 GAMES title has now spent a total of six weeks at No.1, and is likely to remain high up the charts during this quiet summer period.
Despite a five per cent sales drop, Zumba Fitnessoutsold the next four titles combined. Sales were led by the Wii SKU, which has topped the console’s Top 10 for 14 weeks running.
LEGO Pirates of the Caribbean from DISNEY climbed back to No.2, knocking LA Noireand FEAR 3to No.3 and No.4 respectively.
No.5 was taken by SEGA’S Virtua Tennis 4, which enjoyed a 111 per cent sales increase and rose 15 places thanks to the final week of Wimbledon. Similarly, 2K GAMES’ Top Spin 4climbed two places from No.10 to No.8.
The cinematic debut of Transformers: Dark of the Moonled to a 77 per cent sales increase for the accompanying video game from ACTIVISION. The title rose from No.17 to No.6.
Finishing up the Top 10 is CODEMASTERS’ racer Dirt 3 at No.7, BETHESDA’S sci-fi shooter Brinkat No.9 and EA’S football phenomenon FIFA 11at No.10.
Only two new entries made it to the Top 40 this week. CAPCOM’S Resident Evil: The Mercenaries 3Ddebuted at No.21, and reached No.2 in the 3DS charts. Meanwhile, THQ’S UFC Personal Trainer reached No.22.
