The Asda team is now looking to the web, with Asda’s former games buyer Alastair Islip and former Gamestation man Frazer Locke tasked with growing the firm’s business online.

THE GROCER is going from strength to strength. The retailer enjoyed its best Christmas in 2010 with like-for-like sales up 3.6 per cent. Sainsbury’s has also opened 72 stores in the past 12 months and plans to create 20,000 new jobs over the next few years.
Gurdeep Hunjan continues to head up the games buying team, while Kenneth Clow and Nick Arran have left during the last 12 months. The latter now works at GAME. Toby Burton and Stephen Bowes have joined as senior games buyer and games buyer. Craig Kerman remains senior games buyer.

MORRISONS is making a bigger impact on the games industry as it grows nationwide.
The retailer made headlines after advertising the Nintendo 3DS for the low price of £187 ahead of its March launch earlier this year. The biggest change at Morrisons has been its decision to end its long- term relationship with supplier Music Box Leisure and move its business to Cinram. That distributor is best known for its work in film and is now looking to grow the games side of its offering.
In terms of the games team, Nick Sultanti remains the supermarket’s games buyer. Sultanti has worked for HMV, Gamestation and Tesco and is supported by a full entertainment team.
