You’re up for a Nectar Small Business Award for Start-Up of the Year. How did that come about? I applied for the award a few months ago and totally forgot about it until early June. I received an email from the organisers


confirming that my company was shortlisted. The category was only introduced this year.


What does Hitari offer? Our mission is to create a trusted well-recognised


brand combined with a leading online retailer of tailored game packages, games and accessories offered at reasonable prices


with super-fast reliable delivery services. We also aim to eventually become a manufacturer of quality gaming accessories.


Why set up online? In my prior job I was away from home most days. But my wife and I have to look after our one-year-old son who was born with a rare life- limiting medical condition. Thus, I decided to start this business from home.


How much has your business grown? We’ve gone from a home eBay business to a 1,700 sq ft warehouse and office facility with six employees.
