Free eyelash courses
The Waverley Academy has started the roll out of their expansion plans with a new venue in Santry, Co. Dublin, and are offering free places on their Semi-Permanent Eyelash Extension course here, as well as at their new Cork venue.
Free places are available for salons / spas / groups who book three people onto the programme, with one going free (three for two). Individual places have also been reduced by €50 each. Participants will receive a comprehensive training kit comprising of Mink lashes.
The Semi-Permanent Eyelash Extension course takes place in Santry on Sunday 14th August, and in Cork on Monday 22nd August.

Galway Technical Institute recently sent fi ve Beauty Therapy students to Tenerife to work in the Vitanova Spa, part of the Dreamplace Hotels & Resorts in Costa Adeje.
This trip was made possible thanks to funding being made available to GTI by Léargas under a European Initiative called Initial Vocational Training (Leonardo Da Vinci- Mobility). The students spent two weeks working in the Spa offering treatments.
All expenses were covered by Léargas including travel and subsistence, and work placement insurance was provided by Association of Irish Therapists (AIT).
In 2010/2011, GTI also sent students to France, Finland, Scotland and Portugal Galway Technical Institute: 091 581 342
Cork courses Hennessy Hair and Beauty have
introduced their Body Contour Wrap and Brazilian Waxing courses, which will run on a regular basis onsite at Hennessy Hair and Beauty Cork.
In addition, they are offering OPI Axxium Color Gel lacquer conversion courses, also in Cork.

Summer learning
IBHT are running some special Summer courses for qualified therapists. “These courses are designed to allow you to study over a relatively short period of time so that you can gain your new qualification efficiently!” explains Sinead Murray, Director of IBHT.
Starting on Wednesday in July is Aromatherapy, with a three-month duration.
Alternatively Body Massage course is running over three weekends in July, whilst their Facial and Eye Treatments course commences on Saturdays in July. Course fees cover exam costs and books.
Alternatively, if you’re looking for a longer course, their nine-month Saturday course in Beauty Therapy commences in July, as does the seven-month Tuesday evening part time Sports Massage course.
