Eve Taylor is one of the best-established aromatherapy companies and with over 40 years of experience behind them, Irish Beauty decided to find out more about Eve Taylor’s success by chatting to Eve Taylor herself...
In 1968 Eve Taylor launched the fi rst professional aromatherapy skin care line to contain only pure natural essential oils without cheap synthetic fillers. A true family business is not often come across so much these days, but Eve Taylor began in the kitchen, all those years ago, surrounded by pots, pans, and her children - a real family effort!
The original Eve Taylor skin care products were created and produced using very basic ingredients on the stove. “It all began when number four son was five months old, with the kids and the whole family involved in stirring the products on the kitchen table and bottling for people to try out - it was not cakes on the kitchen table in our house, it was just facial wash and cucumber cleanser!” says Eve Taylor. “They were all paraben free in 1968 as nobody knew what a paraben was!”

Eve Taylor’s passion for aromatherapy began when she decided to study cosmetic chemistry and aromatherapy with the hope of producing her own unique product range for salon professionals to use and also to retail onto their customers as part of their homecare routine. And this then lead to the beginning of Eve’s home-run business with the whole family chipping in to help.
The first products that the brand sold were Facial Wash, Cucumber Cleanser and Cucumber Toner, which was sold to friends and friends of friends, and the products began to develop based on demand.
Eve Taylor was then offi cially launched in Ireland by DK Distribution in October 2008 and is growing from strength to strength each year.
For the professionals
Eve Taylor like to keep their brand exclusive to salons and professionals. Their ethos is: ‘High quality, affordable natural professional skincare available to everybody and sold via professionals only, not shops and stores’.

After 43 years, Eve Taylor are still developing and growing, whilst remaining ever popular. How have they managed this? “Innovation and re-invention - every company and every person needs to re-invent themselves to stay fresh - companies and products come and go - but re-inventing and re-positioning your products and brand is key. Never stand still, break new ground and look forward - we are still here after 40 years and the brand will still be here in another 40 years!
“Over the last few years we have invested heavily in the brand to ensure long term development, and despite the current economic situation, Eve Taylor sales worldwide are up over 20% and still growing with exceptional and sustainable growth being experienced in Ireland which is fantastic as we appear to be in the right products at the right time, yet we still have a lot of work to do - our success is our customer’s success, if they win, we win.”

1990 A move to bigger premises.
