Celebrity celebration!
Oonagh Clarke heads to the Celebrity Salon launch party
This month I decided to have a night out with the Celebrity Salon crew. This year’s contestants were great fun and know a thing or two about enjoying themselves!
The launch party, sponsored by Bulmers Light, was held in Dublin’s Odeon on Harcourt Street so as you can imagine the drink was flowing. The celebrities were all glammed up as were all the invited guests, including of course this year’s contestants Callum Best, Georgia Salpa, Aisleyne Horgan-Wallace, Abi Titmuss, Alan Hughes and Rosanna Davison, along with ‘head mistress’ Elaine Butler-Doolin.
The first greeting was a mob of cameramen all hoping for that elusive shot that would get into the papers the next morning. For the second year running the sun shone and as the producer, John Norton said to me, they placed a special order to the Gods for it!
All the celebrities turned out in their finest to catch a sneak preview of the programme which according to Ben Frow Head of TV3 is full of laughs and not a lot of substance and I’m sure that you will all agree!

All the sponsors of the programme set up areas to promote their products and there was great interest in this salon area with guests getting their nails and tan done and enjoying samples of Acadèmie.
planning on taking them to L.A where she is hoping to further her acting career. She is currently using all the DermActe products, the new cosmeceutical range from Acadèmie, and is in love with the filler.

As Acadèmie and Bronz’Express were two of the sponsors, the gang at French Cosmetics got to mingle with all the celebrities on the night. Abbi Titmuss is already a big fan of the products and is
Buttercups Uniforms provided the turquoise salon wear that the celebrities sport throughout the series, and Grace and Jessica Crowley of Buttercups also mingled with the stars. Young Nails were also one of the sponsors and John, Robbie, Janice and all their crew turned out to enjoy a great night. Sheila Curran from Coogan Bergin Clinic, whose school was used for the fi lming, was also there with her team, along with the team from Gainfort Hair & Beauty Supplies who provided the salon furniture used during fi lming.
Among those also spotted at the party were Glenda Gilson and Karen Koster from XPosé and Martin King, TV3’s effusive weatherman.
A great night was had by all and the party continued into the early hours of Friday morning with many sore feet and heads witnessed around Dublin!
