We’ve all been there. The countdown is on to your fabulous Summer getaway, yet your body is looking more super size than supermodel.

The Summer holiday season can leave women paranoid and insecure about dusting off the cobwebs and getting back in their bikini. But fear not! As a therapist you can be on hand with a selection of vibration and toning systems to give your clients back their confi dence and get them back on track to a happier and healthier body.

Stop the sag

A healthy diet and good exercise regime can keep the body looking slim and youthful, but a lot of us find it hard to fit gym sessions into our busy lifestyles. A sedentary lifestyle will lead to poor body tone and texture, and also the chances of being overweight and ageing prematurely are higher.

“As our body ages, the production of elastin and collagen fi bres slows down and the body can’t rebuild collagen as fast as it breaks it down – when this happens first signs of aging appear and unwanted sags, bulges and wrinkles are unavoidable,” say Aoibheann Moynihan, Endermologie Specialist Trainer at Tekno Surgical.

“Although sagging skin affects the entire body, some areas are more sensitive to it, including the inner thighs, the tummy and the arms. There are some factors such as weight changes or pregnancy that increase the chances of your skin losing its fi rmness and flexibility.”

Exercise can help combat sagging, but certain people are more prone to it in specifi c areas and will have diffi culty toning up no matter how many lunges and squats they endure. Aoibheann says: “Unfortunately following a balanced diet and having an active lifestyle can only help up to a certain point, as there are stubborn areas that will remain saggy.”
