COMMS PEOPLE Jenvey joins Modern


THE former Head of Marketing at SpiriTel, Kerstin Jenvey, has joined Modern Communications as Marketing Manager. Jenvey has been credited with being instrumental in developing SpiriTel’s marketing strategy, brand and rebrand, as well as the marketing integration of 12 acquisitions and subsequent activities following SpiriTel’s acquisition by the Daisy Group. Turning her skills towards developing and advancing Modern Communications’ marketing strategy, Jenvey takes on the responsibility for marketing programmes and activities including collateral, direct mail, website design, events, advertising and communications. Commenting on her new role, Jenvey stated: “I am excited to be joining the team and look forward to playing a key role in the growth of Modern Communications.” Adrian Barnard, Modern’s Manager Director, added: “Kerstin’s knowledge and experience will be a great asset to the company and key as we look to implement our growth strategy.”

Azlan takes on HP ESSN guru


AZLAN has appointed John Ward as HP ESSN (Enterprise Servers, Storage and Networking) Business Manager. Ward brings 25-plus years experience working in technical, sales, marketing, and management roles for end user and channel companies. He spent the last nine years working as a senior HP Business Manager at Arrow ECS. In his new role, Ward will be focusing primarily on enhancing the value Azlan brings to the resellers and on storage business development. Mark Walker, Director Converged Infrastructure at Azlan, stated: “John brings tremendous knowledge and experience to Azlan. His appointment adds further strength and depth to our capabilities around HP ESSN solutions.”

JMC IT recruits cloud specialist


JMC IT has bolstered its play in the cloud space with the appointment of cloud computing specialist Paul McCreanney. Working with Tim Maxwell, Business Development Director, McCreanney will help to deliver cloud computing solutions to new and existing clients. Maxwell said: “This is an exciting time for our cloud computing proposition and we expect the market to grow significantly over the next five years.” McCreanney added: “Almost every business is going to have to re-evaluate their current IT system and many will move over to the cloud. Cloud computing puts technology in the hands of businesses that previously couldn’t afford the upfront capital expenditure. It puts organisations in charge of their IT, not the other way around.”

Edwards named SpliceCom’s MD


BARRY Edwards has taken the helm at SpliceCom as Managing Director. His remit is to lead SpliceCom into its next phase of growth, drawing on an impressive pool of industry experience. Edwards has held technical roles with BT and C&W and enjoyed a successful sales career with Case Communications and StrataCom before relocating to Japan as President of Fore Systems/Marconi Japan.
