Microsoft supports forum for the cloud
MICROSOFT UK has joined an industry body that supports widespread adoption of cloud services within businesses. The Cloud Industry Forum’s watchwords are trust, security and transparency within the sec- tor, and the aims of the body chime with the thinking behind Microsoft’s Cloud Power global campaign to help IT profession- als better understand the funda- mental shift towards the cloud. Westcon adds to Avaya kit bag
WESTCON Group has expand- ed its Avaya relationship with the global distribution rights for the Avaya Virtual Services Platform (VSP) 9000, an Ethernet switching solution for mission-critical data centres. The platform is a key element
in the Avaya Virtual Enterprise Network Architecture (VENA) networking strategy. Steve

FRONTIER Voice & Data treated channel partners and suppliers to a day out at the Epsom Derby where they made their way up to the legendary Hill at the centre of the course in a 1964 open top bus. Andy Chalkley, General Manager at BT Wholesale, said “It was good to meet some of Frontier’s channel partners who clearly value their relationship with the company. What really came through was the intensity and energy felt at the front end of the business.” The event was part of Frontier’s activity plan to communicate the benefits of its new MyFrontier portfolio of products.
Kelway hauls in more key partner accolades
IT SOLUTIONS and servic- es provider Kelway has been named Virtualisation Partner of the Year at the NetApp 2011 UK & Ireland Partner Awards. The accolade follows a trio of award wins with the com- pany also being named Cisco Mid-Market Partner of the Year, EMC Velocity Growth Partner of the Year and HP’s Enterprise Storage, Servers and Networking (ESSN) Gold Partner of the Year 2011.
