Members: Review Important Election Information
Dear Member:
The 2011 USA Triathlon General Election is soon upon us.
Because electronic voting reduces costs and increases the overall efficiency of the election process, USA Triathlon has partnered with Survey and Ballot Systems to handle our voting needs. This company has been in business for over 20 years and works with many public and non-profit groups to administer their voting needs. We are confident in their capabilities and their attention to detail and voter security.
For 2011, you will be asked to vote on three specific elements. One is for the National Board candidate running from your respective region. The second is for the Regional Council member running from your respective region. The third is for proposals that our organization has asked for you to accept that will help change a number of issues with our bylaws. In some regions due to our staggered terms, there may not be a National seat up for election.
On Aug. 1, the election officially begins with the online ballot process. If you are unable to vote electronically, please call Sharon Carns at (719) 955-6020 after Aug. 1 to receive a paper ballot.
Any USAT member in good standing as of 11:59 p.m. Mountain Daylight Time June 30 may vote. Unfortunately, members joining USAT after that date will not be able to participate.
Ballots must be submitted by Oct. 1, 11:59 p.m. Mountain Daylight Time. This should give you ample time to research the candidates from your region as well as the proposals submitted and then make an informed decision. To help you, USAT has put together this informative special section as well as posted this information on our website at
www.usatriathlon.org.
Our elections are vital to the continued success of this membership organization as our process places critical responsibility on the shoulders of every member. Without a solid governance structure helping to define our long-term strategic vision, USAT’s staff could not embrace our vision and develop the day-to-day support demanded by our constituencies.
