This year ’s event once again features competitive keelboat and dinghy racing in English Bay as well as the Easter Seals Cup fundraising race for our more recreational sailors. Whidbey Island Race Week July 17-22


Five days of great racing, six great


nights of Mount Gay Rum and lively bands for your entertainment. We again will have the volleyball courts as part of the tent area so get your teams together. Free camping will be available again on the Navy Base. Dinghies Whidbey Island is in its

Cowichan Bay Regatta July 29-31


The fun continues with the 32nd


annual Cow Bay regatta. It will feature a separate start and finish line. Shoreside events including registration, prize- giving, Saturday margarita party, BBQ dinner and dancing will take place at the stage area of Cowichan Tribes Kil-Pah- Las beach. Moorage will be available at the Government Wharf in Cowichan Bay Village or elsewhere as available within Cowichan or Genoa Bay. Our free Margarita beach party will be held on Saturday, starting around 1830 hrs. Beach Party tunes will be provided by our favorite D.J.. Dancing will commence following dinner Saturday night. Limited camping and RV spaces

Ballard Cup Monday night fun continues in


July and August, as STYC and SBYC kick off the third and final Ballard Cup five-race series. This popular series is a great way to get out there for some lower stress racing around Shilshole Bay. Ballard Cup Series 3 is held each Monday evening between July 11, and August 15. All are welcome, if you do not currently hold a PHRF handicap, STYC club handicappers can provide a provisional rating for you. More information can be found at www.styc.org.


STYC Down The Sound August 6-7


The second race in the Triple Sound


Series, “Down The Sound.” Similar to the popular ‘Race To Straits’, “DTS” stops in Gig Harbor at Arabella's Landing for an evening of food and festivities. Double handed, single handed and Jack and Jill classes will be offered with a pursuit start, the slowest boats start first. Competitors are encouraged to make moorage reservations with Arabella's Landing (253) 851-1793. Go to styc.org for more details and registration.
