SCAD has hosted the first two international conferences on Collaborative Innovation Networks (COINs), in partnership with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Wayne State University, in 2009 and 2010. The COINs conferences bring together a multidisciplinary group of practitioners, researchers and students of the emerging science of collaboration for workshops, panel discussions, networking opportunities and more. Filmmaker Jesse Dylan, CEO and creative director of FreeForm, and Thomas W. Malone, founding director of the MIT Center for Collective Intelligence as well as the MIT Center for Coordination Science, have delivered keynote addresses at COINs.
Alumni of the graduate program in design management work for companies such as Time Inc., Procter & Gamble, Redmon Group, JWT, Punch, BrandSync, Ziba, Gensler, frog design, 3M, Tupperware, Texas Instruments, Insight Product Development, RKS, BMW DesignworksUSA, Gulfstream and many others.
