Orlando first US state to hit 'Big 5-0'
Orlando has become the first destination in the US to attract more than 50 million visitors in a year, with a 51.455 million total in 2010, and expects a further 5.7 per cent increase in 2011. Some 3.675million of these were international visitors, a 12.6 per cent increase on 2009 (3.3million). "Despite the challenging economic
times, the Orlando tourism and meetings community continued to invest in new hotels and attractions, said Gary Sain, president and ceo, Visit Orlando. "Visit Orlando launched aggressive global marketing campaigns showcasing that Orlando offers visitors something they can't get anywhere else – world-famous attractions, value for money and an experience they will never forget." New trail in NM US sales have a sporting chance A number of sporting developments

For motor racing fans, the first new permanent Formula 1 motor-racing track will open in Austin, Texas, a year from now, in July 2012. Grand Prix races will be held annually for at least 10 years at the track, to be called The Circuit of the Americas. It’s projected to bring some 300,000 visitors for each event. (
