essential selection Shields up
CommScope has introduced its enhanced shielded solution to the Systimax GigaSpeed X10D solution portfolio. Built from the ground up, the GigaSpeed X10D shielded solution is based on the patent pending HGS620 shielded information outlet and the new Evolve panel platform. With this new solution, customers can enjoy the same design freedom they get with CommScope’s GigaSpeed X10D unshielded twisted pair (UTP) solution with 1m cords and 3m or 5m cables. Customers that prefer shielded infrastructure can now deploy short shielded channels in data centres and anywhere else they choose.
As the shielded panels are built on the new Evolve panel platform, iPatch intelligent panels can be included and upgrades to intelligence in the field are easy, without any network disruption. By integrating CommScope’s network intelligence solution with this new shielded solution, customers now have complete visibility and control of their shielded physical layer infrastructure.
This shielded solution allows for easy termination and has been specifically engineered with enhanced performance to support 100m channels as well as short channel configurations, offering maximum flexibility and minimising excess cable and patch cord lengths. For further information visit:

Psiber Data has announced the launch of LanExpert 85, a comprehensive hand held network management tester that provides expert assistance for all levels of LAN installers, technicians and managers working with either copper or fibre media. Network problems are a constant source of frustration and result in highly expensive down time. The average cost of network down time has increased as bandwidth
demands have increased. Network problems can reduce employee productivity increasing operating costs and degrade customer support resulting in lost sales. The LanExpert from Psiber replaces multiple expensive tools, from cable length meters and fault locators to sophisticated protocol analysers, traffic generators and industry standard (RFC2544) stress test systems with separate test tools required for copper and fibre. The LanExpert 85 has combined multiple instruments and dual media support into a single hand held tool to meet a wide range of both enterprise and service provider installation and maintenance requirements.
The LanExpert 85 is simple to operate via a colour touch screen user interface and complete test and analysis capabilities with expert assistance in a single portable robust device. The LanExpert 85 includes packet capture and recording, protocol analysis, traffic generator, RFC stress test, cable test and includes IPv4/IPv6 support. For further information visit:
