data centres Look to the future
Nexans has a wide product range that can help reduce operating costs and extend the life of data centres.
Nexans offers a full range of easily installed, high density copper LAN systems. In particular, high performance screened Category 7A and Category 6A systems offer data centres the opportunity to use a reliable, cost effective, energy efficient copper system with potential to migrate to future higher bandwidth.
Nexans has also extended its fibre plug and play portfolio to enhance the support for 10Gb and 40Gb Ethernet applications with low loss MPO connectivity modules, LANmark-OF OM4 fibre assemblies, bend reduced tight buffered cables and preloaded sliding patch panels. A large data centre can have similar energy consumption to the average town and with the escalating cost of energy the need for management information and control becomes evermore critical. LANsense is Nexans’ Intelligent Infrastructure Management (IIM) solution, including Environmental Monitoring and Access Control (EMAC). EMAC monitors and controls power and cooling parameters, alerting operators to pre-set event thresholds. The LANmark cabinet has been specifically designed to host high density, passive cross connects in copper or fibre, whilst taking into account the technical constraints of cooling and space scarcity in data centres and similar facilities. Perfect harmony
As more businesses are adopting consolidation, virtualisation, and automation of networking assets to drive business results, the physical infrastructures needed to support the technologies are increasingly becoming more complicated and take longer to implement. Panduit’s pre- configured physical infrastructure
solutions are part of Panduit’s smart data centre solutions, which embody the next wave of systems integration and risk management by aligning and harmonising critical systems to support the delivery of secure, energy efficient, real-time data and services. Panduit’s pre-configured infrastructures integrate physical to logical systems through optimised reference architectures that are mapped to industry wide best practices. To reduce planning, design, fulfilment and procurement times, each pre-configured physical infrastructure includes all necessary systems integrated within Panduit cabinets.
These infrastructures arrive at partner or end user sites ready to rapidly deploy Cisco Unified Computing System (UCS), Nexus 7010, and Catalyst 6509 platforms. As a physical infrastructure partner for Cisco, Panduit works with Cisco engineering and product teams to develop optimal physical layer solutions for its networking products. This approach ensures that the physical infrastructure deployments are optimised for power, cooling, and performance, lowering infrastructure risks and costs while increasing agility and sustainability.
