Siemon has added enhancements to its data centre range with the VersaPod chimney system, designed to assist in the thermal management of active equipment.
Fitting to the 1,200mm version of
the VersaPod, the use of the chimney in conjunction with extractor fans increases the thermal capacity of the system by directing the hot exhaust directly into the HVAC return ducting. A 71 per cent perforated door system aids cold air entry. Should an alternative system providing additional local cooling capacity be required, a rear door heat exchanger system (RDHx), has been integrated into the VersaPod, increasing the cooling capacity, up to a maximum of 45kW per cabinet, whilst making maximum use of free cooling by removing the heat generated by equipment at source. A leak prevention coolant circulation system is available, reducing risk of water damage, and a scalable management system can control individual units or entire systems to ensure the elimination of condensation risks and correct temperature maintenance even with external heat loads.
A suite of accessory products are also available to assist in correctly managing airfl ow within the VersaPod, including internal trays, brush strips and by using the built-in VersaPod horizontal and patch cabling pathways, interruption of cooling air to the installed equipment is minimised.
