PARKEX 2011: COMPANIES AND NEWS AT PARKEX

Commend UK in two-way communication

At this year’s Parkex and Traff ex combined exhibitions, integrated intercom solutions provider, Commend UK, will be showcasing its range of intercom products – including the new Series WS, GE300 Server and Intercom Client. Series WS includes

a family of innovative, vandal-resistant intercom units that bring together the latest in sound, vision, control and design technology. T e units are

designed to enhance safety and security in public places, such as lifts, car parks, airports and transport stations. Working alongside

the WS Intercom stations is the GE300 IP-Intercom Server,

which has integrated functions for door and gate control, alarm, and video integration. Also on Commend’s

stand will be intercom stations used in a disabled refuge area – designated for the safe refuge and evacuation of the disabled in the event of a fi re – to ensure reliable communication with the fi re service in an emergency. Another feature

will be the company’s Intercom Client, which converts Windows- based PCs into the familiar Commend desktop station, without the need for additional hardware. A PC monitor is

used to display a virtual keypad with a full range of function keys, and is

compatible with mouse, keyboard or touch- screen control. Completing the

exhibits is ComWIN – a new generation of visualisation software for control desks in a client-server structure. All control desk functions of the intercom systems are displayed on one or multiple monitors. Commend’s car park

intercom specialists Alasdair Gardner and Gemma Davey will both be on hand at the show to answer any questions. T ere will also be

a remote intercom help point on ‘T e Boulevard’, within the Street Design part of

the exhibition. ● Visit Commend UK at stand P180.

Making a show of it… Dukes unveiled its new look at IRRV

Another day, another show

Following the late decision to take an exhibition stand at the Institute of Revenues, Rating and Valuation (IRRV) Benefi t Conference in Southport, Dukes Bailiffs will be hoping for a similarly positive experience from Parkex. At the IRRV

conference, Dukes unveiled its new corporate look, which attracted plenty of delegates and a number of leads for the business. Phil Travers,

business development manager, said: ‘This is not an event we have attended before, although we have found the IRRV’s programme generally

to be very helpful – and we were a little concerned, given the current environment for local authorities. ‘However,

delegate numbers and quality were, if anything, above our expectations, and we anticipate new business as a result of going to the show’. Dukes’ participation

over the three-day event enabled the company to outline the range of its collection and enforcement work in the public sector, and to discuss with delegates the likely impact of the proposed changes to the benefi t market. ● Dukes Bailiffs will be on stand P173.
