Winter Doesn’t Have a Wallet Whether your customers drive high-end luxury or entry level affordability, snow and cold pile up just the same. Here are three remote start installs that keep cars from either class toasty and road-ready. By Rob Elliott, Executive Director of In Car Experts

The horn honk wire (Green/White -) as well as the trunk release (Yellow/Red -) can be found at the Front Electronic Module (FEM). This is located in the driver’s side kick panel.

Remove the drivers side lower dash panel by removing the (4) T30 torx screws.

Removing the steering column’s lower shroud gains access to the vehicle’s ignition harness as well as the parking light wire.

Just above the Front Electronic Module (FEM), the brake wire (Green/Orange +) can be found.

The parking light wire (White/Red - ) is found at the headlight switch and requires a 236-ohm resistor as well as a relay.


Making the main power connection at the ignition harness is much easier when the harness is unplugged from the switch: 12V Constant (Red/Blue +); Ignition (Red/Blue +); Accessory (Yellow +); 2nd Accessory (Yellow/Blue +); Starter (Yellow+); Key Sense (Red/White +)

Next, the driver’s door panel must be removed. In the door, the Driver’s Door Module (DDM) is located. This houses the lock, unlock and drivers door pin wire. First, remove the T25 torx screw behind the door release handle.
