Clarion focused on improving its head units in its lineup, specifically by adding Sirius Satellite Radio Direct Connect functionality, new user interfaces on the head units, front USB inputs (a popular dealer request, according to Clarion) and HD Radio. For example, the company’s new NZ501 navigation unit with motorized 7-inch flip-out monitor features customiz- able wallpapers, movable animated icons, and can display album and movie poster art. To the NX501 (double-DIN) and NZ501 (single-DIN) head units the company added Parrot Bluetooth and dual-zone functionality, and made these units HD Radio and Sirius Direct Connect ready. by adding the new MBR-1500 series models for Audi, VW and Nissan vehicles. The Audi/VW kits will be available in March and the Nissan kits will be available in April. In the company’s Silverline DUO line, which provides
iPod/iPhone integration (and RDS data on a head unit’s display) and Sirius Satellite Radio, the company introduced a number of new models for Audi, VW, older Honda and Acura vehicles, Mazda, Nissan and Infiniti vehicles and a new module for Toyota and Lexus vehicles. The Audi and VW Silverline DUO kits will be available in April 2011. The new Honda/Acura DUO kit will be available in March, the Mazda DUO kit in April, the Nissan and Infiniti kits in February and March, and the Toyota/Lexus Silverline Duo kit in February.
