Membership by DD soon A message from MAG Central

We have experienced a delay in processing Membership renewals for Members who paid by Standing Order during November/December 2010. Please accept our sincere apologies for any inconvenience which may have been caused. If you pay by standing order, please note that the annual cost of a Single Membership has increased to £25.00 and for a Joint membership to £37.50. Please ensure you adjust your existing Standing Order payment amounts accordingly. We no longer accept new Standing Order set up forms, mainly due to the labour hours it consumes to manage this process and because we would like to offer the facility and convenience of paying for your MAG membership by Direct Debit. In pursuit of this we are now in talks with a Direct Debit broker who deals with lots of smaller organisations in order to increase their overall group income level. this reduces the charge that we pay. As we are not a large commercial business with a guaranteed annual turnover of millions, we are considered a small fish in a big pond. This will reduce the percentage of the membership cost to a more sustainable level and reduce the amount of time spent administering memberships, as well as making the membership process more convenient for all members.

Direct Debits are generally free to the person paying them, as the recipient is the one who pays the charges that relate to the Direct Debit Scheme. We hope to be able to offer this facility soon, and we will keep you posted when it becomes available. In the meantime we would like to thank you for your patience and for your continued support of the Motorcycle Action Group."

Gathering of the desperadoes

This sounds like a motorcycle event with a difference. Intrepid shoestring world travellers and life MAG members Austin Vince of Mondo Enduro fame and Lois Pryce (Lois on The Loose), are staging a film festival for motorcycle travellers. A site near Bideford in glorious North Devon has been reserved for which 2000 have already booked.
