The ROAD is sad to report the passing, after an illness, of Patrick Moffat aged 60 who was tour advisor for MAG Corporate member H-C Travel. Patrick was the first to run tours to the highest roads on earth in Ladakh, India in the early 1990s. He later set up his own travel company Himalyan Mototours and teamed up with H-C Travel. A man for the mountains he divided his time between The Himalayas, Mongolia and the American Rockies. It was rumoured that he had never swum in the sea. Patrick recently married Crystal who he’d met in Mongolia and had started a family with whom he was living in New Mexico. Patrick’s motto was ‘Live on the edge of adventure, not disaster.’

Technology extends helmet life
A revolutionary new application for a tried and tested air purifying system will banish damaging safety helmet bacterium and odours and could double premium helmet life expectancy. The ground-breaking HDS System Helmet Docking Station, heats up and heavily ionizes clean air to 45 degrees Celsius then circulates the air-purifying potion into the helmet before extracting the processed air through a side vent.
