Up Close and Personal with Jane Anderson “The Cayman Islands is an incredible natural playground for kids. When I took my five-year-old daughter Scarlett and two-year-old son Finlay, a highlight was the mangrove safari with Cayman Sea Elements, an eco boat trip created and run by experienced children’s dive instructor and ecologist, Marnie Laing and her husband Danny. Their intimate tours bring the mangrove forests and seabed alive as they uncover Mermaid’s wineglasses (underwater plants) and sea squirts (jelly on the roots of the mangrove that squirt water when squeezed). They get children licking salty mangrove leaves and declaring they’re the next best thing to Pringles! After the safari we snorkelled and paddled at Starfish Point; Danny had a tank filled with upside-down jellyfish, spiny urchin and bright orange starfish.

Another highlight was Stingray City."
