CARIBBEAN FAMILY HOLIDAYS
ith new airlift to Barbados, St Lucia, Antigua and Puerto Rico and the exchange rate pegged to
the US dollar, the special offers are starting to pile up for out-of-season holidays to the Caribbean, which conveniently coincides with the UK’s summer school holidays. Clients who think taking the family to
the Caribbean is way out of their league should be guided to value-for-money resorts such as all-inclusives like Beaches and SuperClubs Breezes Resorts, along with small, independent resorts with special offers such as True Blue Bay in Grenada which has summer family dive specials where kids stay, eat and dive for free. Clients with more cash should be steered in the direction of luxury properties that are pushing the boat out for kids such as Elegant Hotels in Barbados, which offers VIP status for kids and teens at its relaunched Tamarind Hotel with its Flying Fish Kids Club (ages 4-12) and Club Tamarind for teens up to 17. Other islands trying hard to attract the
family market include St Kitts and Nevis which are launching a Kids ‘r’ VIPs programme for children aged two-15 years. Each child will receive a Kids ‘r’ VIPs booklet in which they can collect stamps for specialist activities such as the Nevis Cycle and Triathlon Club or
