O2 IS to invest an additional £7m into its partner channel in a move to consolidate its position in the SME market. Maggie Kennedy, Head of
Partners at O2, commented: “Our channel partners have had a fantastic year and are critical to the success of O2. This additional investment will enable them to continue to bring high value, low churn business to O2.” Ben Dowd, O2 Business Sales

This has enabled us to have a joined up approach and we continue to learn from the best practise across all partners.” The cash boost was announced
at O2’s Partner Conference which celebrated the performance of channel partners. Partner of the Year awards
were as follows: Centre of Excellence Partner of the Year – Aerial Telephones; Data Centre

Arrow targets TMG’s assets
ARROW Mobile Communica- tions has acquired the assets of TMS (trading as TMG), a provider of telephone systems, maintenance and network services. Arrow, headed by Chris Russell, specialises in providing communi- cations solutions for business and corporate customers and has key partner relationships with RIM, Vodafone, O2 and Gamma. Russell commented: “This com-
pletes Arrow’s portfolio of mobiles and applications for businesses, fixed solutions and telephone sys- tems and will complement the hosted products that we launched earlier in the year.” Jo Upton, Sales Director at
Bromsgrove-based TMG, now heads up the telephone systems division of Arrow. She stated: “We have been
working with the Arrow team for some time now and are excited
to now be in a position to offer a full range of telecommunications services to our customers”. Customers, suppliers and
employees of TMG will be inte- grated into the Arrow business and will be re-branded Arrow Mobile Communications.
The systems division of the business, including all 26 employ- ees, will continue to operate from the current office in Bromsgrove. The addition of these employ- ees will take Arrow’s total head- count to 77 across three UK offices and turnover will increase to over £20m per annum. “Arrow continues to deliver against its strategy of providing a comprehensive telecommunica- tions service to its customers while searching for value and product enhancing acquisitions to supple- ment our plans for growth in 2011,” added Russell.
Watchdog levies hefty fi ne
OFCOM has fined London-based Continental Telecom the maxi- mum £50,000 for failing to pro- vide information to the regulator, as part of an investigation into landline mis-selling. Ofcom opened an investiga- tion into Continental Telecom on 15th February 2010 following an increase in complaints about customers being misled into sign-
ing up to its landline services. The company, which is based in south-west London, did not sup- ply the information required by Ofcom, and Section 139 of the Communications Act 2003 allows the watchdog to fine up to £50,000 for failing to provide information in these circumstances. Continental Telecom has until 14 January 2011 to pay the fine.
