Datasharp in bullish mood

DATASHARP UK has capped its 30th year by announcing expan- sion plans and new products such as a super-fast connectivity port- folio, called Datasharp Optimum Connect, set to launch in January. The package offers technologies

such as Ethernet First Mile and fibre connectivity backed up by service level agreements. A restructured board and a new generation of products and services has put the company on track for what it says will the most successful financial year to date. The company, founded by

CEO Paul McIntosh in 1980, has a network of regional offices across Britain and its channel partner- ships include Siemens, Shoretel, LG Ericsson and BT. Datasharp has parted company with a handful of its offices, said the firm, but it has continued to expand by taking on several new offices during Q4 2010. As well as a significant num- ber of SMEs, Datasharp’s customer portfolio includes British Airways, RYA and provision of the com- munications that underpinned Granada’s reality TV show I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here, linking the studio to the jungle. Jane Cockcroft, Operations Director, commented: “This is an

O-BIT’S CEO Dave Breith has attributed the company’s impres- sive growth in 2010 to hard work, and the grafting is set to continue. O-bit doubled gross profit and

net profit last year and according to Breith resellers can enjoy similar success if they roll their sleeves up and take on tough tasks. He said: “Things will improve in 2011 for those committed to working harder than usual. “However, resellers should pre-

exciting time to be in the industry and staff morale at Datasharp has never been so good. “The new board and the whole

Datasharp team is highly motivated and enthusiastic about the direc- tion the industry is taking.” McIntosh added: “We have

restructured the group, re-focused on our strengths and have a great deal in the future to be excited about. Having reviewed our offices we have a solid foundation. “We believe there are exciting times ahead, and even in a difficult economic climate we are forecast to have our best financial year yet.”

Servassure mobilises for big channel push

WITH a nationwide army of over 150 engineering and technical staff Servassure is now on a mission to extend its market reach. Significant acquisitions have

strengthened Servassure’s engineer- ing force. The purchase of SpiriTel added Mitel skilled engineers, including 30 field and technical engineers; while the acquisition of NEG has boosted Servassure’s Avaya capability. Andrew Goldwater, Comm-

ercial Director for Systems Services, stated: “Strengthening what was already a highly resourced and capable team of engineers operat- ing our white label service through-

out the UK is proof that we remain 100% committed to the channel.” Servassure has divided its engi- neering pool into five regions, each with a dedicated manager. “The engineers will be backed

up by a technical support team and a dedicated professional services team which will ensure the highest levels of service for all white label customers,” added Goldwater. “Our message is that we should be seen as a virtual engineering arm for the channel, and we will do our utmost to share this vision.”

pare for more tough times – just in case. They should get their heads down and railroad through any dif- ficulties that may face us in 2011. “Resellers should work hard on achieving more sales and keep a close eye on the bottom line. Remember, cash is king.” O-bit Telecom’s growth plan is

‘spread across the board’, noted Breith, ensuring that the firm gets its product mix right. He added: “2011 will see resell-

ers’ focus change towards data ser- vices, as the traditional calls and lines business will have to change to keep up. Higher bandwidth usage for applications, VoIP and hosted applications are becoming more and more accessible.”
