snom set for UK advance
SNOM has established a UK office following the acquisition of IP PBX solutions provider pbxnsip. The move is the first stage of
a renewed campaign in the UK market that will be supported throughout the coming year by a range of additional activities and announcements. The new office also provides distributors and resellers in the UK with a direct link to snom while the acquisition of pbxnsip gives snom UK the ability to provide solutions for all stages of the IPT network. snom UK has appointed Jon-
athan Greenwood as UK MD, the former CEO of pbxnsip. He said: “The market for IP telephony solutions in the UK is constantly
growing and we are looking to capitalise on this growth. “With this renewed focus on the UK market we are confident that we will be able to capitalise on our previous success in the United Kingdom.” Dr. Michael Knieling, CFO,
snom AG, added: “The UK is a large and interesting market in which we have always had a presence, but by creating snom UK and opening an office we are better able to take advantage of the opportunities it presents. “The IP telephony space in
Britain is constantly expanding, and as a result we have significant growth plans for snom UK.” Full interview on page 18

Nimans hails record sales
of BT phones NIMANS has ended 2010 on a high note having ‘smashed’ its way to record monthly BT sales that exceeded the £1m barrier for the first time.
The best sales period of the year was fuelled by a record spike in orders for BT telephones, boosted with big demand for Panasonic sys- tems during a promotional day. Sales of BT telephones such as
the Graphite, Diverse and Converse ranges had resulted in a 25% year- on-year leap in orders. The end of last year saw 2010’s second biggest lift in systems sales with Siemens and NEC orders particularly strong, while NEC increased its performance for the third month in a row. Demand for audio conferencing devices from brands such as Polycom also approached record annual levels. Head of Conferencing and
Handset Sales, Ian Brindle, said: “Prosperity in times of adversity is what we are finding.” Head of System Sales, Paul
Burn, commented: “Overall the system team generated the second highest sales of the year towards the end of 2010. It’s a great platform to take us forward.”
