SpliceCom in three tier restructure
SPLICECOM has revamped its accreditation scheme, introducing a three tier structure that better fits the firm’s enhanced portfolio. The company’s launch of Spec-
trum Managed Solutions archi- tecture, Vision Call Centre, and maximiser XS with single (S8000) and multiple (S8000-M) virtual Call Server images, will be better supported by the new structure, says Graham Harris, SpliceCom’s UK Sales Manager. “The new SpliceCom Comm-
unity Accreditation Scheme is a key component that underpins all of our recent product launches and announcements,” he said. “Our original single layer scheme would no longer be able to deliver the skill sets required to sell, install and maintain the current SpliceCom portfolio and the new solutions.” To augment the three-tier
accreditation scheme, a fourth level, Alliance, recognises those who assist the SpliceCom Community in the provision of an end-to-end maximiser solution through com- plementary services, applications and/or products, but do not sell the maximiser itself. Harris added: “These partners
are often the difference between a simple sale and the more sophis- ticated, higher value solution sale. The key attribute of an Alliance Partner is that while they do not sell the maximiser they must have an intimate knowledge of the system.”

“Businesses will be able to analyse all mobile usage and costs”
Analyser cuts mobile costs
A NEW call accounting solution launched by CTI Group has been designed to monitor and report on SMS, MMS, data usage and stan- dard voice traffic on any mobile handset or 3G device. According to CTI Group its
new Proteus Mobile module could help organisations save significantly on their mobile costs. CTI cites research by Gartner that suggests organisations could save up to 35% on mobile costs by 2015 simply through closer man- agement of their mobile services. Further research cited by CTI
Group states that mobile costs have now exceeded traditional landline systems and that the majority of organisations leave mobile purchas- ing decisions to the employee while still paying for 100% of the bill.
Proteus Mobile centralises and consolidates all mobile and fixed line communications on a single platform while offering the same functionality and features that are found across CTI’s whole suite of Proteus call accounting solutions. Its series of standard and
bespoke reports highlight specific usage patterns allowing businesses to identify its highest data, voice and roaming users. Lee Essex, Product Manager for CTI, said: “Across all industries, it is becoming standard for business to be conducted on mobile 3G devices such as smartphones and tablet PCs. A number of organisa- tions have seen their comms bills rocket due to large data trans- fers, international phone calls and unmonitored roaming charges. “With CTI Group’s Proteus
Mobile, businesses will be able to analyse all mobile usage and costs, which will empower them to implement policies and strategies to eliminate any unnecessary and costly mobile expenditure. “Even something as simple as identifying personal use of a corpo- rate mobile device, and allocating those costs back to the employee, can immediately save a business a significant amount of money.” Proteus Mobile is compatible with CTI Group’s call accounting solutions, Proteus Enterprise and Proteus Trader.

Capstan picks up top award
HAVING nailed its flag to the IPECS mast and rallied dealers to the cause, small wonder that distributor Capstan Communications picked up the Global Award for Innovation in Sales and Marketing during LG-Ericsson’s Partner Conference staged in Las Vegas (November 8-12th). Big contributors to Capstan’s LG-Ericsson busi- ness in 2010 were RHM Telecom, Teleconnect Service and Odyssey Systems, all winners having scooped Dealer of the Year 2010 awards. Capstan celebrated a remarkable year by inviting its top flight dealers to a week of bright lights, roulette, drinking and vari- ous presentations from senior LG-Ericsson representatives, as well as spending an afternoon at Las Vegas’ premier shooting club The Gun Store, all while lodged at the luxurious Aria Hotel and Resort. Mike Smythe, Marketing Director at Capstan, said: “LG-Ericsson presented its vision for the future, focusing on building the IPECS brand and continuing the development of data networking, UC and applications. Everyone was in high spirits and with the cloud of Nortel well and truly blown away, 2011 is likely to be a landmark year for LG-Ericsson, Capstan and its growing reseller commu- nity.” Pictured above: Geoff Girdler, Director, Capstan, collects the Global Award for Innovation in Sales and Marketing.
