Hal Leonard and EMI secure new print agreement Music publishing giants strike a deal for licensing, production and administration with European expansion in mind


HAL LEONARD Corporation, the world’s largest print music publisher has been given the exclusive rights to represent in print the catalogue of EMI Music Publishing UK, growing its modern music catalogue to impressive proportions. This new agreement gives Hal


Leonard the rights to oversee licensing, editorial, production and administration of the EMI catalogue through its new Covent Garden office, as well as in co-ordination with the company’s headquarters in Milwaukee. Hal Leonard Europe will distribute the products. Hal Leonard’s president, Larry


Morton sealed the deal with EMI Music Publishing UK president Guy Moot, with the help of European General Counsel Antony Bebawi and Fran Malyan, the senior vice-president of A&R and catalogue.


“We are thrilled to entrust our


catalogue to Hal Leonard,” Guy Moot said. “No other music print publisher can match the level of


innovation that Hal Leonard exhibits in connecting songs with an audience, or the quality of craftsmanship in its products.”


Tanglewood gives Rider a lift


TANGLEWOOD HAS promoted its south-east region salesman, Shea Rider, to the position of sales director, finally filling the gap left by Brian Cleary when he left the company in 2009. Rider has, a Tanglewood

current UK customer base and will help expand and create new distribution opportunities in emerging international markets. Rider is making his first appearance as sales director at NAMM in Hall B on stand 5467. The manufacturer has also


recently appointed Mike Neild as its new sales manager for Scotland and the North West. Neild had previously been in MI wholesale for ten years and
