enduring partnership on their hands. Richardson feels Miller has what it takes to give the system the exposure it deserves in the UK. Backed up by additional stock from Adam Hall in Essex, he will be given the opportunity to offer it for rental or sale. Furthermore, demos will not require a flight to Germany and can be implemented by an engineer with prior experience of the system. “We’re absolutely delighted to be working with Justin,” comments Richardson. “His knowledge, experience and expertise will be invaluable in helping us get the word out there about there and demonstrate to other live audio professionals just how fantastic this VUE system is. We just need to get it in front of people for them to realise the level of performance that it offers and I don’t think anyone can disagree that the price is amazing. We’ve got great faith in the system that we’ve backed it with a three-year warranty – I think we have an industry-leading offer.” Miller states that the only sticking point is that, currently, LD Premium’s level of ‘rider friendliness’ is not ideal. But he agrees that it offers smaller firms a complete line array system that does what it says on the tin and for a fraction of the price they might pay for an industry standard rig. “For us, as with any dry hire firm, it’s about return on investment and you cannot argue with the VUE system’s credentials in this respect,” concludes Miller. “Stack £20k worth of LD Premium line array against £20k of speakers from a big name manufacturer and then compare the sound of the two. The big loudspeaker brands are great if you’re a major tour sound supplier and can recoup the huge investment, but a big problem these days is that smaller sound companies are turning up to gigs with a very small amount of a named system and absolutely caning it. If they’d spent their money on something that has a better price/performance ratio, like the VA-8, then they deploy more boxes and achieve a better sound.” > ld-premium.com
