THE DR-2D is a portable digital recorder that offers up to 96kHz/24-bit WAV or MP3 recording to SD cards.
TASCAM'S DR-680 offers up to eight tracks of recording to a solid-state SD card media at 96kHz/24-bit broadcast WAV quality. Six mic inputs with provide 60dB of phantom power are provided. Two extra tracks are available via a digital S/PDIF source for eight-track recording. Each mic input has a selectable low cut filter and analog limiter for optimal sound. In addition to WAV recording up to 96kHz, the DR-680 captures stereo audio at 192kHz/24-bit for audiophile-quality masters. The DR-680 records up to four channels of MP3 audio for web-ready recordings. Two of the recorders can be connected with a cascade cable for up to 14-track recording on battery power.
A new dual recording feature records a copy of audio at a lower level, or a second pair of inputs for four-track recording. Unique to the DR-2d, dual recording ensures that if the level suddenly jumps you have a backup instead of a distorted performance. Three modes are provided: Dual recording records a second copy of your performance up to -12dB lower, line mode also records two stereo files (the built-in mics plus the line input), mix mode is similar to line mode, only the two sets of inputs are mixed to one stereo file inside the DR-2d. Users can record to the DR-2D using the built-in condenser mic or plug in their own. Once recorded, sound files can be slowed down without affecting their pitch.
