SDMO launches Rental range


SDMO Energy, the UK arm of SDMO Industries, says that, having worked closely with several hire partners, it has developed a new product line entitled Rental Compact that encompasses a power band between 16-700kVA. They utilise Leroy Somer alternators combined with John Deere, Mitsubishi or Volvo engines. Designed for low noise levels, each set is fitted with low-level


sockets and an ‘easy on’ hardwire facility. Engine access has been improved thanks to the incorporation of wide-opening galvanised doors, and the long-run fuel tanks are fully bunded.Transportation and off-loading are facilitated through the use of nylon-lined, fork access pockets inserted into the base. The central lifting eye does not protrude from the overall bounds of the set and, consequently, sits flush within the canopy surround, with a footstep added to enable safe access to the lifting mechanism. SDMO’s Clive Dix says that the generators have been designed so as to have an aesthetically pleasing appearance that blends with any location.

GenSet UK Ltd reports that it has not been idle over the summer period, despite the prevailing market conditions. Having now re-branded the business to align itself with its Italian manufacturer, the company says it has launched the most comprehensive range yet in its 35-year history. As well as traditional hire industry products such as 3kVA petrol


generators, the line-up includes models for the rail industry and electrofusion machines, as well as silenced or super-silenced generators up to 500kVA. Also available are petrol or diesel welders of up to 600A. The generator range has been extended to include budget models that are suitable for re-sale opportunities, which can enable hire companies to make extra revenue from their sales operations. GenSet UK Ltd says it will offer hire companies guaranteed


buy-backs on all purchases, where a percentage can be agreed depending on the length of time that the hirer wishes to keep the equipment. The company will also consider buying back other manufacturers’welders or generators.

The Role


Reporting directly to the Managing Director you will be fully responsible for the day to day operation and profitability of a selection of depots across Scotland and northern England. You will support our depot managers to ensure they deliver profitable revenue in line with our ambitious business plan. You will also ensure that consistent levels of service are adhered to, in line with our internal procedures and customer SLA’s. You will also be required to provide detailed analysis to the board on a monthly basis, discussing variances to targets regularly with depot managers. The role will involve extensive travelling across our depot network.


The Candidate


The ideal candidate will be highly motivated, results driven and have a passion to succeed in a challenging market. You will be highly organised with a track record of delivering results across multiple sites. You will have an ability to identify and develop business opportunities. You will have strong leadership and communication skills, be computer literate, with the ability to present reports and analysis on a timely basis to the board. You will also have a track record of being able to produce and communicate presentations, be able to interpret monthly P&L’s and produce detailed budgets and business plans.
