TCP imports Canadian mini screen
As well as exhibiting its own well-established Hi-T500 high-tip tracked dumper and Hi-C40 tracked mini crusher, Taylor Construction Plant (TCP) announced that it has become the UK and Ireland dealer for the
ScreenTitan portable screen, produced in Nova Scotia by D J Manufacturing Inc. The ScreenTitan Mini is a 2350mm wide unit weighing 1980kg. It is powered by a 6hp Kubota single-cylinder diesel engine and has a belt-driven inclined shaker system. TCP stresses that there are no hydraulics to maintain. The screen produces three different grades of material in separate piles around the base of the unit. Able to be fed by a compact machine such as a mini excavator, the 1.2m x 2.75m screen area can accept up to 0.57 cu m per cycle. Screening can be accomplished in around 20 seconds. The machine has rear wheels and a detachable front tow bar to assist re-positioning on site. TCP is evaluating the option of providing a UK road-legal trailer chassis.

GreenMech’s new 15cm-capacity Quad Trak 160 chipper has been derived from the successful Quad Chip 150 road-tow model. The tracks give ground clearance of 28cm and the machine can be specified with a turntable and tilt system, facilitating work on slopes of up to 30° while maintaining oil flow to the 34hp diesel engine. Sales Director Martin Lucas told EHN that the Arborist 13-23 range, which was launched at the Executive Hire Show in February, is proving popular with landscapers requiring a compact towable machine with a high work-rate. “More hirers should realise the revenue opportunities the machines represent, and as GreenMech operates through an extensive specialist dealer network, we can provide backup support and specialist advice very quickly at a local level.”

Amongst several new launches on its stand was Stihl’s TS 410 A, a version of the manufacturer’s cut-off saw incorporating an electronic water control for easier dust suppression. The water supply is driven by the engine and automatically switches off when the cut-off saw is idle. It is controlled via three keypad buttons located by the user’s right thumb. Flow is regulated by plus/minus controls and switched on and off via a further button control, meaning that water volumes can be controlled to suit the task in hand and optimised. A memory function stores water settings when the tool is switched off so it is pre-set for the next session. Stihl has also introduced a new 10-litre
pressurised water container with a more efficient pump and an integral dust filter. Only three pumps on the handle are needed to achieve full pressure. The manufacturer also displayed two new
cordless grass trimmers, powered by the same Lithium-ion batteries used by Stihl’s existing cordless hedge trimmers. The FSA 65 and FSA 85 are designed to combine low-noise operation with zero emissions and low vibration. More cordless tool additions are scheduled for launch next year.
